35 years ago today (5/1/90), Mark Lanegan released his debut solo album The Winding Sheet. Released on Sub Pop, the album was a departure from his work with Screaming Trees, representing a more starker, more stripped-down world of acoustic instrumentation, blues, and somber folk.
