35 Years Ago Today – Sonic Youth Released ‘Daydream Nation’ Album (Watch “Teenage Riot” Video)

35 years ago today (10/18/88), Sonic Youth released Daydream Nation, their fifth full-length studio album by American alternative rock band Sonic Youth. The band recorded the album between July and August 1988 at Greene St. Recording in New York City, and it was released in October by Enigma Records as a double album. Daydream Nation was the group’s last record before signing to a major label. The album is considered one of the defining albums of the 80’s indie rock era and continues to influence bands like Parquet Courts. Check out the video for “Teenage Riot” below…
