40 years ago today (7/5/83), Suicidal Tendencies released their self-titled debut album, one that has earned lasting placement on many a top 50 all-time punk album list. With their controversial name, the Mike Muir (vocals) led band helped usher in a heavy brand of punk that would incorporate the then-burgeoning thrash metal sound.
