40 years ago today (9/20/82), The Gun Club released its second album Miami, which fortified their proto-punk blues sound that was years ahead of its time. Led by the late Jeffery Lee Pierce, The Gun Club’s influence rang from Mark Lanegan to Jack White and more looking for darker alternatives to the fluffy new-wave sounds permeating the radio.
