50 years ago today (12/17/71), David Bowie released his fourth Hunky Dory – what many consider to be his finest studio recording. Bowie assembled a new backing band consisting of guitarist Mick Ronson, bassist Trevor Bolder and drummer Mick Woodmansey for the album who would become known as “The Spiders From Mars” band.
