50 years ago today (6/16/72), Roxy Music released their self-titled debut studio LP. Roxy Music is considered a pioneering art rock effort, and one that would give Brian Eno recognition for his keyboard and compositional work: although he would leave the band following 1973’s For Your Pleasure. Roxy Music would later go on to release seven more critically acclaimed LPs and enhance a sophisticated metro funk and soul sound that Duran Duran in particular would later be influenced by.
