60 Years Ago Today- Bob Dylan Goes Electric At Newport Folk (Watch “Like A Rolling Stone” live 7/25/65)

Sixty years ago today (July 25, 1965), Bob Dylan plugged in at Newport Folk and changed the future of folk music and electric for that matter. Dylan, backed by members of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and guitarist Mike Bloomfield, played a loud, raucous electric set, opening with “Maggie’s Farm” and launching into “Like a Rolling Stone.” The crowd was stunned, yet Dylan only played three electric songs before returning with an acoustic guitar to appease the audience, performing “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue.” Listenand watch to “Like A Rolling Stone” from that performance
