80 Years Ago Today- The Late Townes Van Zandt Was Born

80 years ago today (3/8/44), the late Townes Van Zandt who pretty much served as the pioneer of all things country-folk/Americana/Alt-Country that we hear so much on festival lineups (you know who we are talking about), Van Zandt’s music is known for its poetic lyrics, depth, and haunting melodies that never strayed music from the dark side. His most famous songs include “Pancho and Lefty,” “If I Needed You,” and “To Live to Fly. Van Zandt passed away in 1997 at the young age of 52. Watch the master live in 1991
