Five years ago today (5/17/17), the mighty voice of Chris Cornell passed away at the shocking age of 52. Cornell took his life following a Soundgarden gig in Detroit, leaving us without one of rock’s most unique and piercing voices, that put the Seattle-based vocalist on many a top twenty greatest of all-time list. His mastery of tone and mood made his catalog with Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of Dog and solo works one of rock’s most beloved canons.
