Happy 40th birthday to the musically eccentric Joanna Newsom (born 1/18/82). Newsom made a big splash in indie circles with her 2004 debut The Milk-Eyed Mender, while the artist’s childlike voice accompanied by a harp was something surreal at the time. The classically trained harpist rarely puts out new music or performs live these days, but like her influence Kate Bush, you can always expect interest in new music or shows.
