Happy 52nd Birthday Eddie Vedder (Watch “Footsteps” Live ’99)

52 years ago today (12/23/64), Pearl Jam frontman and new member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Eddie Vedder was born as Edward Louis Severson III.  Late in 1990, Vedder recorded vocals for the three songs to music he received via friend Jack Irons from a Seattle band who was looking for a lead singer. The three songs would later become Pearl Jam’s “Alive”, “Once”, and “Footsteps.”  Vedder got the job as front-man for Mookie Blaylock later to become Pearl Jam.  Watch Vedder perform the Pearl Jam rarity “Footsteps” live at the Bridge School Benefit in 1999.
