Happy 65th birthday today to one of the coolest and most unique personalities and voices in rock history- Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders who was born on 9/7/51. The Akron, Ohio native has recorded a timeless catalog with The Pretenders including a series of LPs in the early 80’s which sound as relevant today as they did back then. For the the past 35 plus years, as the Pretenders front-woman, Hynde has kept her band alive through ever-changing lineups, nine studio albums and the drug-related deaths of two founding members.
