With his distinctive soulful vocals that epitomize all things smooth and buttery yet helped form the soundtrack for many an era. As lead singer of The Doobie Brothers and with a successful solo career, McDonald is a damn good keyboard player as well, where his use of electric piano created many a big hit in the 70s and 80s.
