Happy 70th birthday today to Fee Waybill (born 9/17/50), the leader, singer and songwriter of The Tubes and one of music’s original shock rockers. With their big stage productions, various props, and musical splatter paint, where some stuff stuck, some amazed and some stunk. The Tubes followed in the realm of Frank Zappa, while later evolving into the MTV era with hits like “She’s A Beauty.” The Tubes were clearly ahead of their time, check them out live, shenanigans and all at the Winterland in 1975..
