Happy 70th Birthday To Telecaster & Music Director Great GE Smith

Anybody who watched SNL during the Dana Carvey, Chris Farley, Adam Sandler most likely heard Don Pardo announce in his booming voice “GE Smith and the Saturday Night Live Band” during the introduction segment. Yes GE Smith has shared the stage with almost everybody and he turns 70 today (born 1/27/52) As the unsung MVP of Hall & Oates during their perfect pop years in the early ’80s to being in the touring bands of Bob Dylan and Roger Waters; Smith is the go-to for all respected music vets. Plus the Willem Dafoe lookalike is one of the world’s top Telecaster players and music directors around.
