Happy 75th birthday today to Al Anderson of NRBQ (born 7/26/47). The guitarist and frontman helmed the lead ax spot in the contagiously loose rockin band between 1971 and the early 1990s, which earned ‘Q the title from critics as “the world’s best bar band.” In the 90s Anderson took up country music and wrote a series of hits for some big names, yet he’s still remembered for his days as a master of the Telecaster.
