Happy 75th birthday today to one of rock’s most talented yet still seemingly underrated guitarists – Steve Howe of YES (born 4/8/47). With classical and jazz influences that brought Yes a fathom of sounds previously unheard in rock arenas, Howe along with Chris Squire and Rick Wakeman helped YES write some of the ’70s most monumental prog-rock on records like The Yes Album, Fragile, and Close to the Edge. Howe is now the longest active member of YES, and with the band’s strong 2022 release The Quest, Steve Howe continues to write new sonic chapters.
