On the heels of several major music festivals announcing their lineups, New York City’s Governors Ball has announced their 2023 performers along with some other major news. The festival, which will celebrate its 12th year on the weekend of June 9-11, 2023, is moving from Citi Field to the historic Flushing Meadows Corona Park and it’s bringing with it one of its most diverse lineups yet. This year’s headliners include Kendrick Lamar, Odesza, and Lizzo, along with a cast of newcomers and old favorites of the NYC festival to celebrate their first year hosting the festival on the storied grounds of Corona Park.
With their three headliners spanning three major genres, Governors Ball 2023 lineup only gets more exciting and assorted as you read the names. Rising stars like Central Cee, Coast Contra, Tems, and Koffee will soon be joining the esteemed list of artists who have graced the festivals lineup. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Governors Ball if the lineup didn’t feature some familiar legends with veterans of the festival circuit like Pusha T, Joey Bada$$, Saba, and Maxo Kream all filling in slots for the annual festival. This year’s Governors Ball seems more diverse than ever with alternative artists like Black Midi, Snail Mail, HAIM, and Rina Sawayama sharing a stage with modern R&B stars like Pinkpantheress, Syd, Sabrina Claudio, and Phony Ppl only to be followed by the likes of Lil Baby, Givēon, and Kenny Beats. Along with some of the biggest names in modern music, Governors Ball will be welcoming young musicians from School of Rock Queens and School of Rock Brooklyn, who will be opening the shows on Friday and Sunday. You can check out the full lineup below:
Along with having the young stars from the city’s music program on the lineup, Founders Entertainment, the people behind the festival, will continue their Governors Ball Gives Back program. 2023 will see the festival continue to support the Music Forward Foundation along with local non-profits like Chhaya and Elmhurst/Corona Recovery Collective.
This year’s festival will take place June 9-11 with the Presale running from today (January 17) to January 19, followed by Fan Early Access Tickets available the same day, general on-sale to follow.
