Ten Years Ago Today -Rush Releases Final Album ‘Clockwork Angels’

Ten years ago today (6/8/12), Rush released their nineteenth album Clockwork Angels, which would later become their final album, as the band ceased touring following their R40 tour 2015. As a unique addition to a Rush album, Clockwork Angels contained string arrangements composed of six violins and two cellos. With a story-based theme written by the late Neil Peart, Clockwork Angels had early 2112 Rush proggy ambitiousness while adhering to an arena rock mission where songs stood alone as bold singles including “Caravan” and “Headlong Flight.” Rush certainly went out on a high note with Clockwork Angels, which makes most top ten Rush album lists.
