HT faves The Black Crowes kicked off the first American leg of the Lay Down With Number 13 Tour the past two nights at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. The sextet treated fans to tour debuts of Sting Me and Feathers on Tuesday, while last night’s show didn’t feature any. Among the four songs that The Crowes have played at all seven shows is their 1995 single Wiser Time.
Since its debut Wiser Time has been used by the band as a showcase for its soloists. This tour’s versions have exceeded the 15-minute mark thanks in part to the dynamic work of the newest Black Crowe – Jackie Greene. But in this Wiser Time from Tuesday’s show at The Cap, we’re most impressed with Rich Robinson’s ferocious solo and the finale in which both guitarists shred simultaneously.
Check out this video in which Wiser Time starts at the one-minute mark…
