AfterNews: Steady Truckers/Wilco/Bob Dylan

  • In one of the better matches for a co-bill in recent memory, gritty rockers the Drive-By Truckers are teaming up with Brooklyn’s The Hold Steady for a cross-country fall tour. The tour has been christened the Rock and Roll Means Well tour and is scheduled to kick off on October 30 in Louisville.

  • Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy recently revealed that the band hopes to release a new studio album by Spring 2009 during an interview with a radio station in Albany. Meanwhile, booking agent High Road Touring appears to be setting up a Wilco/Neil Young tour towards the end of the year. [HT – Phorbsie]
  • Sadly, Bob Dylan didn’t join old friend Levon Helm on stage last night during the first annual Saratoga Music Festival, but Zimmy did watch Levon’s set from the wings at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. [HT – The Weight]
