Mule and Umphrey’s Announce NYE Shows

Two of the biggest jambands in the game: Gov’t Mule and Umphrey’s McGee, have each played the same venue for New Year’s Eve over the past few years. Yet both bands will be switching it up for their ’07-’08 New Year’s Runs.

Due to the renovation of the Beacon Theatre, Gov’t Mule brings their hard-driven sound to the Hammerstein Ballroom on December 30 and 31. A three setter on NYE concludes a four night stand in the Big Apple that also includes acoustic shows at the gorgeous Angel Orensanz Center on the 27 and 28.

Meanwhile, after three incredible NYE shows at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Umphrey’s McGee moves things closer to the loop for three nights at the historic Auditorium Theatre on December 29, 30 and 31. We’re still awaiting themes from both bands for these gigs, but UM and Mule have a proven track record of treating their fans to special shows on the biggest jamband holiday. Details about the onsale date and VIP packages for the Mule shows are expected to be announced next week, while tickets and ConsiderItDan VIP packages for the Umphrey’s shows go onsale on October 9. We’ll have much more on both of these runs next month.
