Stormy Mondays: Neil Young Preview

This week’s Stormy Monday is a pair of long tracks from Hall of Famer Neil Young. Back in 2003 Neil and Crazy Horse were on tour playing only Greendale in its entirety, but there were two gigs that bucked the trend – one of which was the headlining set at Bonnaroo. The opener was a monster Love to Burn that clocked in at over 20 minutes of heavy rock.

One good jam deserves another so the second half of the mix is Like a Hurricane from the center of the show, a feedback-laden 25 minutes of music. This is arguably Neil’s strongest electric performance since the turn of the century. As always, enjoy.

  1. Show was great. Wilco played for 45-50 minutes. House was pretty full. Neil tore the roof off the Graden. Played some new stuff too. Monday’s are rough nights for me to rage these days though…drifted in and out of a semi-hypnogtic state towards the end of NY’s set. That being said, Cortez was my personal highlight, Neil’s solos were absolutely blistering!
