Wilco is making a previously unreleased cover of Woody Guthrie’s The Jolly Banker available on the band’s official website, www.wilcoworld.net. The band is asking for a $2 donation (or $100 if you are a rich banker-type) but you can download the track for free as long as you promise to “make it up” later. All proceeds go directly to the Woody Guthrie Foundation and Archives. Wilco, of course, teamed with Billy Bragg to release Mermaid Avenue Vol. I and Vol. II featuring previously unheard lyrics written by Guthrie.
