Brian Fallon & The Crowes Hit Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club With Conviction (PHOTOS)

Gaslight Anthem frontman Brian Fallon and his solo band, the Crowes, swung by the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC on March 15th, packed with songs from his new solo record, Painkillers, and some from a previous release, 2012’s  The Horrible Crowes. Bringing along his ace Gaslight guitarist Alex Rosamillia and Gaslight/Horrible Crowes contributor Ian Perkins, Fallon, and his new bassist, rhythm guitarist, and drummer, were a tight unit for a newish band. And with that in place, Fallon’s gracious humor and talent shone bright, including a commentary on jungle cats, and a downright ripping version of Bruce Springsteen’s “Atlantic City.”  Brian Fallon’s had a few dips, both professionally and personally, in the last few years, but his solo material at last night’s performance proved he’s definitely found his footing. And with songs like “Steve McQueen” “Ladykillers,” and “Sugar,” it’s obvious he’s just getting started towards more amazing heights.
