The Smiths’ guitar legend and NME’s “God-Like Genius” award-winner, Johnny Marr, has announced a Fall US tour in support of his forthcoming album Call The Comet. Following a quick and fully sold-out jaunt to Toronto, NYC, LA and San Francisco this summer, Marr and his band will return post-album release for an extensive coast-to-coast run that includes Nashville, Portland, Austin, Boston and Philly, as well as Mexico City and two dates in Canada. Recorded with his band in Manchester at Marr’s Crazy Face Studios in Manchester, Call The Comet follows the critically acclaimed UK Top 10 albums The Messenger (2013) and Playland (2014). Says Marr: “Call The Comet is my own magic realism. It’s set in the not-too-distant future and is mostly concerned with the idea of an alternative society. The characters in the songs are searching for a new idealism, although there are some personal songs in there too. It’s something that people like me can relate to.”
