Low Cut Connie Share “Oh Suzanne” Video & Announce Fall Headlining Tour

In May, Low Cut Connie released their critically-acclaimed fifth studio album Dirty Pictures (Part 2) that was recently named one of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Albums of 2018 so far. In his four-star review, David Fricke called the record “a stand-alone triumph of missionary zeal.”

The band just announced a fall headline tour which includes stops in Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., New Orleans, Dallas and more. They’ve also released the music video for their single “Oh Suzanne”, (below) directed by Remy Holwick.

Elton John recently played “Oh Suzanne” on his Beats 1 Radio Show and said, “One of my favorite bands is Low Cut Connie, and we’ve actually interviewed Adam Weiner on the show, they have a new album called Dirty Pictures (Part 2) which is fabulous.”

The Minneapolis Star Tribune debuted the “charmingly low-rent, highly madcap clip” ahead of the band’s in-store performance today at local record shop, Electric Fetus. Beginning at 5pm, the show is free and open to everyone. Discounted tickets for their First Avenue show on November 1 will be onsale as well.

“The video happened so organically,” said Holwick. “I work with analog photo and video and so the idea of making a vhs tape felt second nature, and when Adam suggested an intimate space, the motel room in New Jersey seemed so obvious that I almost didn’t suggest it. Adam was game for all our ideas— stockings? No problem! Mask? Absolutely. It was such a dream to have an artist be so trusting and willing to bring a concept to life.”

Dirty Pictures (Part 2) has been praised by Rolling Stone, NPR’s Morning Edition,A.V. ClubNew York PostAll Music and NPR Music who featured the album as a First Listen saying, “Across five albums of piano-driven rock and soul, Low Cut Connie has proven masterfully fluent in the foundational languages of Western pop, living at the crossroads where the church house meets the roadhouse, or where the Dew Drop Inn meets CBGB… The blood that pumps through the Philadelphia band’s work comes from a place that’s fresh, original, and truly pledged to rock and roll.”
