SONG PREMIERE: Sour Bridges Make Good Times Texas Roots Rock With “Scrapyard Boys”

Sour Bridges is that browngrass band from Austin Browngrass; it’s like bluegrass, but a little dirtier. Built Ford tough in 2010, the band includes Bill Pucci, Matt Pucci, Garrett Ross and “Uncle Willie” Vaughan. Sour Bridges have created their own style of back porch, good timin’ music. They are traditionally a string band gone wild! These boys turn the folk up a notch with some rocking drums and electric guitar. They also have a knack for some savory three part harmonies. Sour Bridges live show is high energy, infectious, and bound to get you swinging.

On May 24th the band will release a new album called Neon Headed Fool, and today Glide is excited to premiere “Scrapyard Boys”, a laid back roots rock tune that was written from the perspective of a lover to the newly beloved. The band sheds more light on the characters in the song, saying that, “they have known each other forever, but never like this. He reassures her; yes there are other suitors in town… but ‘You and me, we’re holding on’. Such a tale lends itself to the rowdy Texas boogie that is at once playful and tender-hearted. The addition of fiddle and organ blend Texas cowboy swagger with a nice little dose of soul, and a jammy guitar and fiddle bridge keep the mood high. For the Sour Bridges, music has always been about having as much fun as possible, which is something that many acts sadly overlook these days. Listening to “Scrapyard Boys”, one has the desire to crack a cold one and kick back on the porch on a warm Texas night.
