SONG PREMIERE: Ruby Boots & Indianola Offer Soon To Be Classic Collaboration “Might Be Losing My Mind” via Bloodshot

Following the release of her widely lauded album Don’t Talk About ItRuby Boots is launching a collaborative single “Might Be Losing My Mind” via Bloodshot with Nashville group Indianola. The track comes just in time for Ruby’s debut performance at Stagecoach Festival on Sunday, April 28 and in advance of a joint Ruby Boots-Indianola May tour across the Midwest and East Coast

The partnership behind “Might Be Losing My Mind” came about after Ruby met and performed with Indianola’s main songwriter Owen Beverly, while they both toured with Nicole Atkins in August 2018. The two wrote and recorded the shimmering pop-meets-dusky rock tune in Beverly’s home studio in Nashville, TN, exploring a mutual love for rock ‘n’ roll and a new creative bond.

Glide is thrilled to premiere “Might Be Losing My Mind” (below) a blackened whirl of punk’s raw noir and late 70’s/early 80’s jukebox glory. Like Stevie Nicks/Tom Petty or Sharon Van Etten/The National, Ruby Boots & Indianola have molded a soon to be a classic collaboration that hits a sweet spot.

Ruby says of the collaboration:

We both had been plotting to tour together in the U.S. in 2019 and thought that it would be so rad to collaborate on something and maybe record a cover or write a new song and see where it went. There was really very little pressure, but for me, in all honesty, with all the touring last year happening, I had felt a little bit of writer’s block. Owen had this amazing idea for the beginnings of the song and we were toying with both of our concepts about what it’s like to have everything around us in disarray and then the battle between needing to have everything in order or at least malleable with a sense of control in place. Needing to have everything in control can do all kinds of things to your mind and sense of self yet we all need it in place at least some of the time, finding that line can be a head fuck, that’s where the essence of the song comes from, at least for me.
