White Denim have announced their highly anticipated return to the eastern half of the U.S. and Canada this fall. The 2019 tour – supporting their characteristically freewheeling album Side Effects (City Slang), released in March – has already been highlighted by raucous sold-out shows in the UK and West Coast of North America. After officially launching their Austin, Texas recording studio and performance space Radio Milk in November, 2018, founding members James Petralli and Steve Terebecki have now announced house label Radio Milk Records. To mark the announcement, Radio Milk Records has released a remastered version of White Denim’s 2010 classicLast Day of Summer on all streaming and download services, with a new vinyl pressing now available for pre-order.
Originally released for free as a self-mastered digital album, and later as a limited pressing of 500 LPs, this fan favorite has been re-mastered from the original recordings by Joe LaPorta at Sterling Sound. A new vinyl pressing on 180g translucent green vinyl will land August 23rd. Fans can pre-order the album through White Denim’s USA and UK online stores
White Denim will celebrate the vinyl release with a show at Radio Milk’s intimate outdoor stage on Saturday, August 24th, where they will perform Last Day of Summer in its entirety, followed by a second set of songs from their traditional live repertoire. The performance will be tracked live, using the vintage analog recording equipment inside the studio.
Future Radio Milk Records releases will include live recordings from White Denim and other bands, such as improvisational jazz collective Sighted Men, and other local and international bands.
