LISTEN: Lucinda Williams Stands Up For Pride & Dignity On New Track “You Can’t Rule Me”

Venerated singer/songwriter Lucinda Williams stands up for pride, dignity and perseverance in the newly released “You Can’t Rule Me”, the opening track off her highly anticipated new album Good Souls Better Angels (Highway 20/Thirty Tigers). Listen below…

Set for an April 24th release, Good Souls Better Angels finds the multi-Grammy winner addressing domestic and socio-political issues of our day with bold, forthright commentary and an urgency unlike anything she has ever recorded.

Earlier this month, Williams set the tone with the brazen “Man Without A Soul”, where she holds nothing back in a haunting and unsparing critique. On “You Can’t Rule Me”, her long-time band – guitarist Stuart Mathis, drummer Butch Norton and bassist David Sutton – come out of the gate swingin’ with raw electric blues and attitude that bolster Williams’ riveting vocals.

Williams and company will perform a special six-night stand at City Winery in New York City on May 25, 26, 27, 29, 30 & 31 in support of Good Souls Better Angels before heading to Europe. For tickets and to stay up on more U.S. dates, go to LucindaWilliams.com.
