Universal Music Publishing Group Purchases Bob Dylan’s Entire Songwriting Catalog

We never thought the luminary songwriter himself, Bob Dylan, would sell his revered catalog but maybe weirder things have happened?

Today ( 12/7/20) the Universal Music Publishing Group announced that it had signed a unique deal to purchase Dylan’s entire songwriting catalog. This includes everything and there sure is a lot. You name it “Like a Rolling Stone” all the way to 2020’s release Rough and Rowdy Ways, Dylan has sold it all over. This is called in what may be the biggest acquisition ever of the music publishing rights of a single act. The price was not disclosed but certain outlets estimate it at more than $300 million in value.

Just don’t call Bob Dylan a sellout, perhaps he has even more in mind for his precious book of lyrics and songs as he approaches his 80th birthday next May.
