LISTEN: Dublin’s Sprints Drop Post-Punk Declaration Via “Swimming”

Sprints are a four-piece alternative rock group based in Dublin, Ireland. Combining emotive honest lyricism with raw and raucous guitars, their unique rock sound takes influences from post-punk and beyond.

Experience the raucous new single “Swimming” from Sprints. Lead singer Karla Chubb ricochets off the track with distinct power and locked in emotive inflection. A post-punk declaration  “Swimming” rides on a driving bass groove, expressive guitar tone, and fierce drum dynamics. Sprints are dialed in and jarring in all the best ways, an untamed band for fans of The Slits and Siouxsie and the Banshees.

“Swimming’ scorns on the increasing lack of opportunity after following prescribed paths to become society’s idea of a “success.” Sprints singer Karla Chubb explains: “While the homeless crisis worsens, the city is sinking in debt and everyone can barely keep their heads above water, you see an article stating that a new €25 million white water rafting center is being developed after approval by Dublin City Council. Sometimes you’d just rather drown.”
