Tommy Emmanuel needs no introduction, as his fingers do the talking amidst his awe-inspiring picking, enabling the native Aussie to behold the title as one of the world’s premier guitarists. While young pickers like Billy Strings and Avett Brothers have rightfully claimed big sell-out shows and fanbases, guitar-slingers like Emmanuel have rightfully laid the foundation and creating the dynamic acoustic genre/string band scene we have today.

Emmanuel has joined forces with Rob Ickes (Dobro) & Trey Hensley (guitar) to record a four-song digital EP called Accomplice Series Volume 1 with Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley out on May 7. This smokin’ recording of potent picking was recorded at TuneSmith Studios in Nashville, TN.

Glide is proud to premiere the video for “Raz-Ma-Taz Polka,” directed by Zach Pigg, which was shot in Nashville when the three artists recorded the EP. The song of course was first premiered and composed by Buck Owens & His Buckaroos from 1965’s Before You Go/No One But You. Emmanuel gives it a dusting and a new suit of stringed exhibitionism in all the best ways. Check out the riveting guitar duel below…

“The song that Tommy and I play together is a Buck Owens Polka tune. The first show that Rob and I played with Tommy was in San Francisco, and Tommy had just played in Bakersfield, so the conversation immediately went to Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Tommy played a bunch of those polka tunes during his soundcheck. So, when Rob and I played on the Tommy Emmanuel/David Grisman tour a year or so later, Tommy and I jammed on “Raz-Ma-Taz Polka” after one of the shows and ended up playing it on the show the next day. We’ve played that one a ton since then, so it’s cool to have it on tape! I love playing it with Tommy…and the energy is always through the roof. I’d like to think Buck (up there in heaven) digs it too.. says Hensley.”
