LISTEN: Jo Schornikow Displays Newfound Pop Sheen On Colorful “Lose Yr Love”

Jo Schornikow’s history is rich with unexpected circumstances. She began as a church organist and jazz pianist, which took her from Melbourne to New York City. She gigged around NYC with a smattering of colorful creatives. Amongst others, she worked as an accompanist of Hugh Jackman, Bobby Rydell and Lana Del Rey. Schornikow made an EP with King Creosote and contributed keys to works by The National, Kelli Scarr and Phosphorescent. Eventually, she settled into her steady role as a touring member of Phosphorescent.

Sink into the sonic splendor of Schornikow’s heartfelt new single, “Lose Yr Love.” A fresh take on emotional indie rock outpouring, Schornikow’s voice quivers with tensile emotion as she sways through a world rich with synth coloring and forthright rhythmic push. “Lose Yr Love” is the second single from Schornikow’s forthcoming LP, Secret Weapon out May 20th via Keeled Scales.
