LISTEN: Marmalade Mountain Drops Psych-Folk Keeper Via “Many Years Ago”

Happy to have Marmalade Mountain, aka Zack Fischman, back with the latest psych-folk single “Many Years Ago”. Nostalgic without giving up on the future, “Many Years Ago” is a folk tune in its bones with a garage band heart, showing a balanced reflection of Fishman’s diverse musical journey that has led him at last to Marmalade Mountain.

Fischmann cut his teeth playing bass in Bay Area punk bands centered around 924 Gilman, but eventually pawned his gear for an acoustic guitar and hitchhiked to New York City to become a folk singer. After a return to Oakland, Fischmann relocated to Portland, OR where  Marmalade Mountain was born.

Marmalade Mountain’s forthcoming album, Strange Angels, is Fischman’s most reflective work, balancing nostalgia and playfulness with songs that evoke a laid-back, hopeful approach to loving life and people.
