Last night one of the most anticipated tours of the summer kicked off last night in Virginia. The Wild Hearts Tour features Julien Baker, Angel Olsen, and Sharon Van Etten, the all-star lineup took the stage at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap last night (July 21). After Olsen posted photos of the three rehearsing two days prior to the first show, fans were speculating overlaps in sets and live collaborations, and the trio delivered.
All three of the acts are on tour supporting their respective releases of 2022 with songs from their latest releases taking up a majority of the night. 7 of the 9 songs Olsen performed were from her Big Time album and over half of Etten’s set was taken from We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong. Although the sets were on the shorter side, fans seemed more than satisfied to hear their new material live.
The highlight of the night was the encore to Etten’s closing set. She was joined by Olsen on stage to perform their 2021 collaborative single “Like I Used To”.
The Wild Hearts Tour is set to hit major cities across North America with stops in Asheville, Nashville, and Toronto. The tour will march on until they perform a duo of shows at the Summer Stage in New York City’s Central Park.
