WATCH: Johnny Marr Join The Killers In Portland, OR For Three Smiths Songs

Throughout most of 2022, The Killers have been on the road bringing their latest effort, 2021’s Pressure Machine to life on stage. Along with their latest single “Boy” and their plethora of indie hits, the band has been touring classics and new material along with the help of legendary guitarist/songwriter Johnny Marr. Marr has been taking up the opening slot recently and if seeing two iconic rock acts perform on the same night isn’t enough, last night (August 21) Marr joined The Killers on stage to perform “There’s a Light That Won’t Go Out” from The Smiths’ songbook along with helping the headliners go through their most beloved hit “Mr.Brightside”.

The Killers kicked off the North American leg of their tour with a stop in Vancouver on August 19 before making their way back to the states, eventually landing in Portland where last night’s big moment took place. The relationship between these two juggernauts dates back to 2019 when Marr joined The Killers at Glastonbury to perform the “Mr.Brightside”. So far on the North American leg of the tour Marr has been joining The Killers on stage every night, performing the aforementioned Smiths’ song along with “Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before” at their Vancouver stop and “What She Said” at their show in Seattle.

With the tour just kicking off there is no telling what The Killers and Marr have in store. The tour heads to San Francisco next to continue their domination of the west coast before hitting the rest of the U.S. and more parts of Canada in the following months.
