Bass Drum of Death Returns To Fat Possum Records & Shares New Single “Say Your Prayers”

The D.I.Y legends Bass Drum of Death have returned to the label that launched their careers. The legendary Fat Possum Records is yet again home to the lo-fi rock duo and they’re starting out their partnership stronger than ever. Last night, along with the announcement of Bass Drum of Death’s return to the label, they also announced a new album. Say I Won’t is set to release January 27 of next year, it is the band’s first album since 2018’s Just Business and their first release through Fat Possum since their debut album Gb City was released in 2011.

Along with the announcement of the new album comes a single. The fuzzy strings of “Say Your Prayers’ ‘ perfectly compliment the throat-straining vocals from bandleader John Barrett as he navigates through hyper-religious tropes. The single is accompanied by a beautifully directed video that depicts a young rebel going against his father’s wishes during an at-home church service. For a first look at their upcoming album, “Say Your Prayers” is an unforgiving in-your-face rock anthem that is driven by its infectious melody and great use of tone.

They have also announced a slew of headlining and supporting tour dates where the band will be opening for Lemonhead, see the full list of dates below and check out the video for “Say Your Prayers”;
