WATCH: The Cure Debut New Song “I Can Never Say Goodbye” in Poland

“We’re going to do a song we haven’t done before, in front of anyone” is how Robert Smith introduced the unexpecting crowd at The Cure’s show in Poland last night (10/20) at the Tauron Arena in Krakow. The Cure has been touring across Europe and recently has begun adding unreleased songs to their setlist at some of the shows. This trend started on the opening night of their tour in Latvia when they welcomed Perry Bamonte, an original member of The Cure who left in 2005, back into the band. That night they also performed “Alone” and “Endsong’, two unreleased Cure records.

Last night’s Cure show premiered “I Can Never Say Goodbye”, a heartfelt ballad dedicated to Smith’s brother who passed away a few years ago. Smith’s signature vocal style belts out lyrics of loss while distorted guitars carry the instrumental, it’s a touching piece and one we hope to hear on whatever future project these unreleased songs end up on.
