WATCH: Heavy Heavy Perform Buoyant Take Of “Miles and Miles” On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

The newest faces of melodic rock Heavy Heavy stepped out on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night (11/3) to perform their fresh hit “Miles and Miles”. The cheery track comes off of the band’s debut EP Life and Life Only which was released back in June of this year. The duo of Will Turner and Georgie Fuller signed to ATO Records for the release of their aforementioned debut and have a full-length LP due out next year.

Turner and Fuller melt down their influences into one mesh of bright colors and sunshine-laced melodies. Heavy Heavy hail from Brighton UK and while not much is known about the newcomers, it is clear that they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Their debut EP Life and Life Only is able to pull from multiple decades of music, adding a modern twist to psychedelic music and old-school folk songs all at the same time. The 7-song EP introduces the band as a happy-go-lucky group of musicians who share one common goal, create the best music for the current moment. Their harmonies are infectious and their joyous instrumentals give a sensation of floating, the stand-out song, “Miles and Miles”, speaks to this perfectly.

While their songs are texturally dense, they are equally easy on the ears. Turner and Fuller stood center stage with their respective instruments, along with a full backing band, the duo charmed their way through the kaleidoscope of harmonies that is “Miles and Miles”. The duo belted out these lush melodies through flower-wrapped microphones, a fitting stage design for their sound. With only one EP in the books, Heavy Heavy is on its way to becoming a fixture in modern rock music.
