LISTEN: Dubinsky Brings Classic Power Punk Pop Anthemic On “Gotta Get Outta This Place”

Dubinsky brings classic suburban/small power pop angst on the spirited new single aptly named “Gotta Get Outta This Place”. The feeling of being forever stuck as an underachiever in a less-than-glamorous hometown may be a little old hat on paper, but Dubinsky’s infectious guitar hooks, anthemic sing-alongs, and sneaking post-punk flair combine to create a believable plea from the four brothers that in the end is relatable and undeniably fun.

“Gotta Get Outta This Place is about the pressures of living just to get by and being stuck in a dead-end job and town, a pressure that we feel a lot of people have felt at some point in their lives,” says Dubinski

“We wrote this track in the rehearsal studio. Fergus had the main bulk of chord progressions and hooks, we just kinda honed in and sorted structure in the practice room. Trying different tempos and general feels in rehearsal we finally decided it suited a more driven, up-tempo indie sound. The lyrics were written in the studio, and we had a lot of fun co-writing them for this one with the general idea of this dead end town in mind. Although we already had melody written, it developed even more when laying all of the vocal takes”
