Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band Kick Off Long-Awaited Tour In Tampa (RECAP)

Last night (February 1), Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band kicked off their first tour in six years at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. Despite being one of the biggest touring acts working today, Springsteen and his band continue to find new means to keep things fresh for longtime fans. This is just the start of the massive world tour Springsteen and his trusty band have planned for 2023.

Springsteen and his band kicked things off with a 28-song setlist that bounces from different eras of his storied career. Kicking things off with “No Surrender” from his seminal Born In The U.S.A album from 1984 before launching into “Ghosts” from his 2020 album Letter To You. Last night also brought us the live debut of “Burnin’ Train” and “Last Man Standing” from the aforementioned 2020 album, the latter being a solo, acoustic endeavor. Springsteen and his band also brought out some covers, providing his take on songs like “Nightshift” by the Commodores (off his 2022 covers album Only The Strong Survive) and “Because The Night” by Patti Smith Group.

Last night kicks off a full year of touring for The Boss and his band. They continue the North American leg tonight in Atlanta and will hit cities like Orlando, Tulsa, and Seattle to name a few. The European leg of his tour will kick off on April 28 with two nights in Barcelona, Spain and will have the band bouncing around until late July.
