In preparation for their upcoming album, The National stormed the stage over at ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ as they performed the latest single from the LP. The National’s new album, First Two Pages of Frankenstein, is set to release on April 28 and follows up the band’s underrated 2019 album, I Am Easy To Find. The longstanding indie rockers performed the first single from their upcoming album, “Tropic Morning News”, which has the band sliding into their signature sound as they traverse the late-night circuit armed with a collection of new songs.

The stage was dimmed with red lights as the frontman Matt Berninger approached the microphone for the performance. Berninger croons over a wall of moody melodies from the full band as their melancholy style gets a burst of energy from the live performance. The band sounded great as they mix the electricity of live performance with the vulnerable nature of the song, creating a juxtaposition that gives us unique textures and shines a new light on the single.

With the album still a month away, The National also recently released “New Order T-Shirt”, the second single from First Two Pages of Frankenstein. After the release of the album, the band will embark on a 19-city tour, kicking it off with a 4-day residency at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago.
