The new release from Canada’s Elephant Stone “The Imajinary, Nameless Everybody In The World” is an odyssey that’s worth every second of its nearly 8-minute run time. Opening with a harmonic vocally driven sound drawing from CSNY and vaulting into a sound reminiscent of a deep-cut Grateful Dead studio track all before getting even a quarter of the way into the song. As it blooms they begin to carve out their own song from the late 60’s influences that are apparent throughout. All the different movements of the song flow seamlessly together until it fully flourished into a psychedelic cacophony accompanied surprisingly well by a avant-garde saxophone solo.
For ‘The Imajinary, Nameless Everybody In The World,’ I wanted to capture the essence of our shared human experience and celebrate the connection we all have with each other. The song is inspired by the amazing ideas in Isaac Asimov’s Foundation, and I wanted to create something that expressed that sense of wonder, exploration, and unity. It’s a musical journey that I hope everyone can relate to and enjoy.”
