VIDEO PREMIERE: Jeshua Marshall Of Larry and The Flask Delivers Collaborative Gem On Festive “Water”

Any festival-goer has most likely heard Bend, Oregon’s Jeshua Marshall – even if they don’t know it. With 18 years of experience writing, playing, singing, and touring original music with Larry And His Flask, and as a solo artist, he has performed in every state in the U.S., every province in Canada, 15 countries in Europe, and Palestine.

With a relentless punk ethos that has proven no instrument is off bounds or any type of collaboration; Marshall tackles possibilities with his double bass, harmonica, euphonium, and any other instrument he can get his versatile hands on. Artists like Les Claypool, Keller Willams, and Ben Harper come to mind when hearing Marshall’s relentless no-rules pursuit of the song.

The new single is the lead track from his sophomore album, The Flood,’ due September 22 via CEN/The Orchard. It’s the follow-up to his debut Shoot The Moon that features Fredo Ortiz from Beastie Boys (touring drummer) and Pedro Erazo from Gogol Bordello.

Glide is premiering the video for “Water” (below) which was written by Willy Tea Taylor about his hometown – Knights Ferry, California located in the central valley at the foothills of Yosemite, at a time when it was raining non-stop.

“Knights Ferry is a very special place to me, a home away from home. I fell in love with this song and learned it directly from Willy while I was touring through Scandinavia playing bass for him in 2017,” says Marshall.

“When I brought it to my band they completely rearranged it. They upped the tempo and added the horn lines – written by my horn section- Miguel Mendoza (trumpet), Wendi Wampler (clarinet), Davey Hemm (bass), Seth Acquarolo (guitar). Todd Rosenberg (drums) changed up the rhythm giving it more of a funky feel. This song is usually the only cover song I play on the setlist and is one of my favorite songs to play live!”

“We filmed the underwater shots in the Deschutes River and Devil’s Lake on the Cascade Lake Highway in Central Oregon. It was filmed by Jesse Locke in June and the water was still absolutely freezing. I had trouble breathing in when I got out of the water. The other shots were filmed at our home venue – Silver Moon Brewing in downtown Bend, Oregon where I have hosted an open mic for the local music community for the last two years. The Art in the Alley is by my friend Eric Hoogen.”
