The Ocean’s series of films is a case in point and has amassed a huge global following that seemed to grow with each new installment. But why have these movies proved such a hit and will we see another one released any time soon?

You also have to consider that studio bosses will look at how popular these films have been with international audiences, and they should be keen to repeat this. This would make another Ocean’s film a very tempting prospect and something they must be considering.
Another plus point in terms of another Ocean’s film being made is the release of Ocean’s 8 in 2018. Although this was something of a spin-off from the George Clooney-helmed series of modern Danny Ocean films, it does show that an appetite exists for new films in the franchise. With reports that it generated around $297 million in box office revenue, its success also demonstrates the public’s appetite for more Ocean’s films.
Ocean’s Eleven remake could fill the hole
While new films such as Red Rocket are always worth keeping up with, people love the familiarity of hit franchises. One project that is apparently looking at a summer 2024 release with this in mind is a remake of the original Ocean’s Eleven from 1960. This would mean that the action takes place in Europe once again (as in Ocean’s Twelve) and it would be something of a prequel to the modern reboot that starred Clooney, Pitt, Damon et al.
Although not much is known about this project, it is thought that Jay Roach is directing. In addition, it is believed that superstars Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie are signed up for it. Although this might not be exactly what Ocean’s fans are hoping for in terms of another movie, it would be another part of the overall Danny Ocean story to check out.
Is another Ocean’s film about to hit the screens?
Fans of this movie franchise have been waiting a long time for a follow up to Ocean’s Thirteen, and to see George Clooney as Danny Ocean bring the old gang back together. Although Ocean’s 8 was a neat twist on the story and an Ocean’s Eleven remake for summer 2024 would plug the gap, it is likely most followers of this movie series will not be truly happy until a proper sequel to Ocean’s Thirteen is finally made. With rumors of this being a serious possibility, though, we might not have to wait too much longer for it!
