On October 6th, Jolie Holland will unveil her latest collection, Haunted Mountain; intricately connected with friend and collaborator Buck Meek’s album of the same name, Haunted Mountain features five songs co-written by the pair, including the mesmerizing title track. “When he told me he was including our song on his next record, I was extremely pleased at the weirdness – I was going to release a version as well,” Holland says, adding that they had each planned to give their albums the same title. “We thought about it for a minute and decided it was bizarre and wonderful. I am enormously pleased that Buck chose it as his album name too.”
Holland is back in a powerful way on new single, “Highway 72”. The track features friend and collaborator Meek, as Meek and Holland’s vocals swirl joyously together to tactile music touch, burdened beautifully by her gorgeous and rich vocal release. “Highway 72” is focused, spacious, and truly timeless in feel, a refreshing dose of modern Americana gold.
