Razor Braids is composed of Hollye Bynum (lead vocals/bass), Janie Peacock (lead guitar), and Jilly Karande (vocal / rhythm guitar). Following their riveting debut, I Could Cry Right Now If You Wanted Me To, the band is gearing up for their sophomore release, Big Wave, in June 2024. Dedicated to expanding their tightly layered vocals and emotionally reflective lyrics, the three-piece is ready to continue to shake up and redefine the garage rock scene.

A cinematic and moving music video accompanies Razor Braids’ breezy new single “Big Wave.” The slacker-rock anthem has the tones of a beachside vacation with the emotions of a lonely day hiding from the sun. The band takes confusing and heavy emotions and accents them with lighthearted melodies for an infectious sonic tension. Razor Braids’ emotional vulnerability drives this single. The band seamlessly took the complexity of relationships and spun it into a poetic narrative with fear and acceptance at its core. “Big Wave” sets vivid imagery to sun-drenched yet moody tones as Razor Braids preps for their sophomore release.

“‘Big Wave’ is about processing the loss of non-romantic love (friendship, family fights) and how devastating that kind of heartbreak is,” explains the band on their new single. “It’s destabilizing and can feel as if you’ll be carried away by it. IT’S A BIG WAVE!”
