LISTEN: Walter The Producer Keeps It Eerie & Catchy On “I’m Scared”

Born and raised on the south shore of Massachusetts, Walter The Producer – whose real name is Reid – started playing guitar and piano at the age of 10 and making beats by the time he was 13. Now 21 years old, the enigmatic artist and self-proclaimed Kombucha addict has created a sound all his own – an infectious blend of indie, disco-pop, and alt-R&B that has compelled the music world to take notice.
Psychedelic guitars pave the way for soaring melodies on “I’M SCARED.”

Walter The Producer created an eerie single that explores the heaviness of emotional vulnerability. A steady drum pattern creates a hypnotic atmosphere as Walter uses the warping arrangement as a platform to get some things off his chest. He dives headfirst into his fears with falsettos that pull at the heartstrings. The magic is in the blunt songwriting. There is no time for metaphors when you feel the world is crashing around you. Walter’s simplistic approach makes the raw emotions of “I’M SCARED.” A highlight from the first half of Walter The Producer’s multi-part project, he welcomes us into his colorful world of head-spinning vocals and borderless creativity.

“This is a project I made during a period of time that was kind of confusing for me,” explains Walter The Producer. The project in question is his freshly released PLEASE HELP ME… “A lot of good things were happening in my life with people discovering my music and whatnot, but I was also super depressed and anxious, which was scary because my dreams were actually coming true. Why was I not happy?”
